Small Commercial Property and Casualty Producer

Job Summary:
The Lafayette LA office of Brown & Brown is seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, drive, and commitment who specializes in Small Commercial Property and Casualty Sales. Our new team member will be highly competitive and skilled in relationship building. They will be relentless in recruiting and retaining clients for our organization. The position will demand critical/creative thinking to develop and deliver applicable solutions to prospective and existing clients.
Required Competencies:
- BS, BA and/or 3 years plus relevant work experience in insurance sales and licensed in Property and Casualty.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of commercial lines products; services and value propositions.
- Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment where initiative and self-motivation are required, as is the ability to work in a client-centric strategic and decisive manner according to tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication (written, verbal and oral) skills and interpersonal skills essential.
- Must have reasonable knowledge of MS Office and Agency Management System (TAMS).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Candidate will be responsible for new account & renewals, client development & retention, and day to day account monitoring and/or maintenance of all aspects of Small Commercial P&C department, as well as making direct contact with customers.
- Respond to inquiries from agency insured’s and prospects as well as company referrals.
- Obtain underwriting information to quote/rate risks for new and renewal business and complete applications.
- Maintain agency management system; set up new prospects, E-file quotes, maintain account files, checking & updating policy information.
- Prepare policies and endorsements for delivery or mailing.
- Solicit existing customers for coverage’s or expiration dates not carried by agency; identify prospects for business from existing and prospective clients for cross-selling opportunities.
- Prior to renewal, prepare accounts for review and prepare recommendations for upgrading coverage’s for customers.
- Data entry for all tasks into the agency management system.
- Provide proactive risk management advice to existing clients and resolving client issues before they become "problems".
- Perform other functions or tasks at the direction of management
